High Impact Polystyrene
Rubber-modified polystyrene for impact-resistant sheet and mouldings.
01 Overview
HIPS is GPPS modified with polybutadiene rubber, trading optical clarity for a large gain in impact strength and toughness. It thermoforms cleanly and takes printing and decoration well, which makes it the standard choice for refrigerator liners, food service packaging and appliance housings.

03 Typical specification
These figures are approximate and differ slightly between producers. The binding numbers are the ones on the certificate of analysis for your actual shipment, which we send with every quotation.

Impact grade selection should follow the forming depth and service temperature of the finished part; we will ask for both before quoting rather than defaulting to a mid-range grade.
